Reading, Watching, Listening - with 10 Odd one Out
Books, bands, films & brain teasers straight to your inbox // Brainfueled 94
A weekly newsletter: I cover my occasional musings, what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to, with 10 quiz questions and a bunch of cool links; sent out every Sunday at noon.
Last week’s edition is here.
Reading - The A-Z of Pointless
A quiz book based on the UK TV show Pointless, it was fun reading it. Although many of the things I did not get as they were extremely UK-centric, it was nice to see new styles and formats.
Watching - Madgaon Express
Should have watched this in the theatre back when it was released. A super fun movie, lots of content, plot twists, and you won’t be bored. I am sure there’s much more to explore on the IMDb trivia page, which I need to check out.
Listening - Dream Theatre
One might think, how come everything I recommend here is something awesome? That’s not the case, I only recommend stuff that I really enjoy and feel others must also listen to or watch.
This is one band that I wish I had discovered sooner. I have been in awe since their very first song and wonder how each and every track can be jaw-dropping! I have no more words - they are epic, possibly the most epic band out there that’s still performing!
From Charlie Dominici’s angelic voice, to the work on the keys, the amazing riffs, and how every song is a whole orchestra in itself.
I am still not done listening to them, there’s at least half of their discography left, but even by the first two albums I could claim that they are the best band out there in all terms. No single song has disappointed, or even something that I can call mid.
Happy that I purchased tickets to their show! Try them out, you won’t be disappointed.
